A powerful personal growth tool is the 30-day trial. It’s also a great way to develop new habits, and best of all, it’s brain-dead simple. The more you think about the change as something permanent, the more you stay put!!
The idea is actually pretty simple. Think about something you've always wanted to add to your life and try it for the next 30 days. It turns out 30 days is just about the right amount of time to add a new habit or subtract a habit!
I decided to test new habits, because I want to change something in my life. Everyday I'm thinking that I will turn 24 next month and I don't want to be the person what I am today.
Here are some new things I wanted to try in the next 30 days:
1. Shoot a new film every day about my life and my experience(film should not exceed 60 seconds)
2. Try being a vegetarian again. I haven't eaten meat for 1,5 year, but eventually I started eating meat in China and continued after my return to Russia. Next step is to become vegan.
3. Stop eating dairy products at all! Sometimes I eat cottage cheese and drink milk, but I want to try to live without them.
4. Learn 10 expressions everyday in English and Chinese (homework at university also counts). I became very lazy, so I want to change this situation.
5. Get up at 7 a.m. everyday. That's just my dream. I always wanted to get up very early (7 a.m. is very early to me). It's really challenging, but I will try.
6. Do 30-minutes exercise everyday. I do sport on a regular basis, but I think if I devote time and energy to it everyday, I'll become more confident, won't engage in self-reflection and stop thinking that I'm not who I want to be.
So here's my question to myself: What are you waiting for? I guarantee you the next 30 days are going to pass whether you like it or not, so why not think about something you have always wanted to try and give it a shot!
